New production line and new method to manufacture special reinforcement products

Pintos’ technological head start has been substantial

During the summer, a new highly modern production line and production hall of special reinforcement products were introduced at Pintos’ factory in Rauma's Lappi. The line was designed in collaboration with the machine manufacturer. The design focused on efficiency, diversity, environmental friendliness and occupational safety. A similar production line is not in operation anywhere else. A total of approximately 3 000 m2 of new production premises was created.

Alongside its unique production methods of reinforcement products, Pintos has developed its very own service concept. The company has already previously created its own platform and design software which the element industry and construction firms can use when designing reinforcement products or purchasing Pintos’ products. The new production line opened up more opportunities. The production line is capable of welding, for example, hot rolled rebars.
− We have once again expanded our selection with several construction product groups, says Tuomas Pere, Managing Director at Pintos.
Special reinforcement products manufactured on the new production line have already been delivered, for example, to Tampere’s Kansi (Central Deck) and Areena (Arena) projects (Uros live).

The modernisation of the special reinforcement product line, which was introduced in 2014, was also carried out at Lappi’s industrial plot. A new production cell was added to the production line. A total of 7 million euros was spent on investments. As a nonrecurring investment, they are among the company’s largest investments in history. The investments were entirely self-financed.

Pintos has implemented several improvements associated with energy savings, energy efficiency and better air quality at its production plants in Eura and Lappi, which have been carried out in stages. Energy savings have been considered in the best possible way in the production and building technology equipment of the new hall. On the other hand, the air purifying equipment efficiently collects any dust that is accumulated in the hall during the process.

All of Pintos’ properties are heated with Finnish bioenergy. Emission-free choices have also been made by investing in solar energy.
